No Medical Marijuana Allowed On UMaine System Campuses

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine System wants to clear the air about medical marijuana.

UMaine System employees and students who have legally issued medical marijuana cards can use the drug, but not on any of the system’s seven campuses.

The system’s Shelly Dobres says there’s a clear conflict between state law, which allows the possession and use of medical marijuana, and federal law, which does not.

Dobres says the UMaine system does everything it can to support people under a doctor’s care with medical marijuana, but they can’t use it on campus.
