Marijuana will be available recreationally in Michigan and medicinally in Missouri and Utah.

The Missouri Medical Cannabis Trade Association announced Tuesday that what it’s calling “the state’s largest medical marijuana trade conference” will take place March 11-12 at Union Station in downtown St. Louis.

The trade show, dubbed MoCannBizCon + Expo, is scheduled to include a keynote speech by former State Representative Lyndall Fraker.

Fraker, a Republican, is the state’s new director of medical marijuana for the Department of Health and Senior Services.

That department is charged with implementing medical marijuana according to Amendment 2, which was approved by more than 66 percent of votes in the November general election. On Monday, the department began taking pre-filed application fees from those who want to run cannabis dispensaries, growing and manufacturing operations.

The trade association expects 1,000 to 1,500 attendees at MoCannBizCon + Expo, it said in a news release. The goal is to give people “the knowledge and resources to successfully participate in Missouri’s new medical marijuana industry.”

“It is important that as the medical marijuana industry builds in Missouri, people interested in investing or participating have access to credible resources and knowledge,” said Andrew Mullins, the St. Louis-based trade association’s executive director.
