Connecticut picks first 6 medical marijuana dispensaries

BRANFORD A site at 469 E. Main St. has been chosen of the first six dispensaries for medical marijuana by the state Department of Consumer Protection, according to a release by Commissioner William M. Rubenstein.

The facilities will have authorization to legally dispense Connecticut-produced marijuana products to seriously ill patients who have been certified by their physicians as potentially benefiting from the use of medical marijuana, and who have registered with the state’s Medical Marijuana Program.

The selected dispensary facilities are: Bluepoint Apothecary LLC, 469 E. Main St., Branford; DB Wellness LLC, 2181 Main St., Bridgeport; The Healing Corner Inc., 159 E. Main St., Bristol; Arrow Alternative Care Inc., 92 Weston St., Hartford; Thames Valley Apothecary LLC, 1100 Norwich-New London Turnpike in the Uncasville section of Montville; Prime Wellness of Connecticut LLC, 75 John Fitch Blvd., South Windsor.

According to Vision Appraisal, the Branford site is the location of Planet Fitness health center. First Selectman Jamie Cosgrove
