All abuzz: Northern Maine
dispensary set to sell pot

Operations in Portland and Biddeford aren’t expected to get going until May or June.

The first medical marijuana dispensary on the East Coast is about to supply patients from a farmhouse in rural Aroostook County.

MAINE MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES

The status of Maine’s medical marijuana dispensaries:

AROOSTOOK COUNTY: Safe Alternatives is about to start delivering its first crop of medical marijuana. The company has a cultivation facility in Frenchville and, in addition to deliveries, plans to open a storefront dispensary soon in Eagle Lake.

ELLSWORTH: Maine Organic Therapy plans to start delivering marijuana to patients later this month. It has a cultivation facility in Biddeford and plans to open its dispensary in Ellsworth on May 1.

AUBURN: Remedy Compassion Center has been growing its first crop of medical marijuana and plans to start delivering and open its dispensary in Auburn in April.

BIDDEFORD: Canuvo is working to set up a cultivation facility in Gray and plans to open its dispensary off Route 111 in Biddeford on May 1.

PORTLAND, BANGOR, THOMASTON AND THE AUGUSTA AREA: Northeast
